Pumpkin AND Banana Oatmeal!

I love both banana and pumpkin oatmeal so I figured… why not combine the two?

Banana, Pumpkin, Cinnamon, and Flax!  It’s the perfect mix of ingredients.  You have the creaminess from the banana and almond milk as well as the great taste of pumpkin!  It was sort of like a whipped pumpkin oatmeal.

Breakfast was 281 calories, 9 grams of protein, and 10 grams of fiber!  It would have been awesome with some sliced almonds but i’m all out!

Mmmm, such a great way to start the morning.  Just out of curiosity, what is your favorite oatmeal flavor combo?

You say it tastes like “whipped pumpkin oatmeal,” eh?? It looks FABULOUS!! I too love pumpkin and banana, but have never thought to combine the two in oatmeal – yum!!

My favorite oatmeal variety (which I consume at LEAST 5 days a week) is banana & nut-butter oatmeal (my FAVORITE nut-butter to use is hazelnut-butter; but sometimes I’ll “switch it up” with cashew-butter or almond-butter) – yum!!

Do you even have to ask me!?!? Actually I’m not sure I could choose a favorite!

  3. My favorite is actually not thaaat healthy. I like to mix a couple of chocolate cookies with my oatmeal! It adds sugar and tastes a little like chocolate 🙂
But raisins are also all right! I still have to try it with pumpkin! did you use canned pumpkin?

Oh gosh this combination looks so good, I’ll have to try it! How much pumpkin did you use? Last time I made pumpkin oats I think I added too much so it didn’t taste that great 😦

My favorite combo is oats made with half water/half hemp milk, bananas, raw almond butter, cinnamon, and wheat germ. It’s so good and creamy!

I’m very traditional about oatmeal. I make it w/ water (as opposed to soy milk), then mix in raisins and grade B maple syrup.

i am putting pumpkin into my oatmeal tomorrow! please, just tell me how much pumpkin is a good amount, as I have to add my banana as well!! (bfast just isn’t the same without some banana flavor…) thanks!

also, do you think it would taste good with peanut butter in it? I want to plan ahead!!!

RhodeyGirl- This oatmeal would taste fantastic with peanut butter! Instead of mixing it in, I would put a nice dollop on the top-that’s my favorite way to have PB in oatmeal. Since I used a small banana, I only put in 1/4 cup of pumpkin.

Monica– If I am making just pumpkin oatmeal then I use a 1/2 cup of pumpkin and whatever mix ins/toppings I want (almonds, flax, cinnamon, ect)

Everyone’s oatmeal combos sound great 🙂

I love hot cereal with flax and heated from frozen cranberries on top! They could be mixed in on the stove as well – then you might get pink oats! I’ve been venturing into buckwheat porridge and creamy brown rice cereals as well – I do love oats though – I am so addicted to them that I had to venture out. 🙂

My new fave thing to mix into oatmeal is chunky applesauce! Trader Joe’s has a great kind (I think they call it Chunky Spiced Apples). Yumm!

    Hey!
I love my oatmeal with either “light” applesauce or nuke it with “light” apple juice instead of milk or water. Then I add raisins and cinnamon!
